Russia's Prime-Tass opens bureau in Croatia's capital Zagreb
MOSCOW, Jan 17 (Prime-Tass) -- Russia's Prime-Tass economic news agency has announced the official opening of its bureau in the Croatian capital of Zagreb. The bureau will be responsible for covering news in the Balkans.
The opening of the bureau is part of Prime-Tass' program to extend coverage of regions and countries with growing investment potential.
"The activities of the news bureau in the Balkans will guarantee the collection and distribution of analytical information on the economy, industry, financial institutions, securities markets, real estate and tourism of this region," Prime-Tass’ Director Oleg Ananiev said. "The bureau located in Zagreb will guarantee the collection of independent information on privatization and perspectives on the economic development of former Yugoslavia," he added.
"We welcome the opening of Prime-Tass’ bureau in the Balkans," Russian ambassador to Croatia Mikhail Konarovsky said. "Former Yugoslavia is a politically important region for Russia, in which Russian business can compete with Western companies for the market with a population of more than 60 million. Prime-Tass will provide to interested Russian institutions necessary information on the opportunities of this market," he added.
"The opening of Prime-Tass bureau will cover the evident deficit of information from the region and will allow Russian business to avoid mistakes when entering this market," said Chairman of the Commission of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry in the Balkan Peninsula Vyacheslav Klimenko.
Prime-Tass has become the first economic news agency in Russia to provide Russian businessmen a full range of independent business news, analysis and economic consulting on the Balkan Peninsula.
The agency will offer its subscribers information on the privatization in the oil, metallurgy, electric power and telecommunications industries, as well as news on the stock market and real estate market of the former Yugoslavia.
Prime-Tass’ Deputy Director Andrei Krasnov has been appointed Zagreb Bureau Chief. Kransnov has worked for Prime-Tass since 2002. Before that he headed the public relations services of several Russian oil companies and banks, and has worked for Russian television and radio stations. End
