Kudrin sees Russian budget deficit at 2.9% of GDP in 2013
MOSCOW, Jul 29 (PRIME-TASS) -- The Russian government’s deficit is projected at 2.9% of gross domestic product (GDP) in 2013, Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Alexei Kudrin said late Wednesday.
The deficit is expected to total 3.6% of GDP in 2011 and 3.1% in 2012, he said.
According to the ministry’s previous forecast, the deficit was expected at 3.6% of GDP in 2011, 2.4% in 2012, and 1.5% in 2013.
Budget revenues are now projected at 17.4% of GDP in 2011, 16.5% in 2012, and 16.1% in 2013, while budget spending is expected to amount to 20.9% of GDP in 2011, 19.6% in 2012, and 19% in 2013, Kudrin said.
Kudrin attributed the expected drop in government revenues to lower oil and gas revenues because of falling output.
In absolute terms, government revenues are projected at 8.62 trillion rubles in 2011, while spending is projected at 10.39 trillion rubles, Kudrin said.
He also said government investment programs would total 1.363 trillion rubles in 2011, 1.142 trillion rubles in 2012, and 1.08 trillion rubles in 2013.
